Seabass with saffron: Highlight of our meal. A delicious savoury sauce with an interesting twist when the oranges are squeezed into the sauce. Brimming with summery flavours. Also, the carrots are the best I've ever had in a hot dish! Seabass Casserole: A more traditional mediterranean style that is rich in tang and tomato. Service was friendly, easy going, and fast. Price: Is on the higher end of course because of the area and type of food.
I discovered this restaurant thanks to a local guide who specifically recommended it as one of the best places to experience authentic Turkish food without paying the high prices of the more touristy restaurants. What a fantastic recommendation it turned out to be! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and gave us a true taste of local Turkish cuisine. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. What made the experience even more special was the outstanding service. Johny took care of us during our visit, and he was simply amazing—extremely friendly, helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. By the end of our visit, we felt like we had made a new friend. If you’re visiting Istanbul and want great local food, excellent value, and exceptional hospitality, I highly recommend this place. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we will definitely come back next time we’re in Turkey
If you visit Sultanahmet Fish House, ask for Mahsum! He wasn’t just my waiter; he was a fantastic host who went above and beyond. It’s easy to see why this place has a Travellers' Choice Award—the service was impeccable and the atmosphere felt so welcoming. I felt completely at home!
Such a gem! I noticed this place when walking past- the gentleman outside the door was talking to a couple of Asian customers in a genuinely friendly way:) I decided to try it. The food was on par with the gentleman’s authentic customer interaction! Istanbul is a bit red meat heavy for me, and this restaurant satisfied my cravings for fresh and delicate seafood very well! The table next to me was quite fun as well, which added to a wonderful dining experience 😋
This is my most favourite restaurant during our entire Turkey trip! The ambiance is amazing from the traditional table cloth and a good street view. The best of all is the good food. We had seabass safron and buttered prawn all are very nice. But the buttered prawn is absulotely the best! Dip the bread on butter wow. All staff are accomodating and ward. And they treat us apple tea on the house. Thanks Mr. Haci for your excellent service
