This is such a cute little hidden gem, tucked away on a quieter street and seemingly very popular with locals. If you’re looking for a Turkish breakfast experience away from the Instagram-hyped spots, this is definitely worth trying. The breakfast spread was incredible. There were four of us, and two portions were more than enough to share between us, making it great value for money. The absolute highlight for me was the rose jam, it was insanely good! I loved it so much that I actually went back a couple of days later just to buy pots of it to take home. The service was okay; there may have been a slight language barrier, but nothing that affected our experience too much. There are also cats wandering around the restaurant, but if you’re nervous around them like I am, the staff are happy to move them away. Overall, great food, generous portions, reasonable prices and a much more local-feeling Turkish breakfast experience.
Okay, this place was very pretty and aesthetically pleasing which is of course is why we chose to eat brunch here. I ordered a simple egg and meat combo and a cappuccino and my friend ordered a menemen and Turkish French toast. The eggs were good but it was stuck to the bottom of the pot. The best thing we had was definitely the French toast but it was a very small portion. Like 2 pieces of toast. Lastly the Menemen with cheese was such a disappointment. My friend said it was mostly tomato’s, she barely tasted any egg and the cheese was still cold and not even melted. She had to share off my little portion of food. The pricing for such little portions is not worth it if you’re hungry. Also the cappuccino milk they used tasted very bad. The waiter was very kind which is why I’m not giving a lower rating but please work on prices or at least make the portions reasonable.
Highly recommend! We went tonight for dinner and the server recommened the sharing plate. It fed the 4 of us with food leftover! The hummus was DELICIOUS, the pita was fresh, the salads and dips were awesome! We received about 10 small plates of food, only 2 had meat (i am a vegetarian) so this was perfect! I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone!
It was a cold raining day, saw some good reviews and decided to visit this little restaurant for us. They had the wood fire on and we immediately felt the warmth and coziness of the place. It is a small restaurant run by a group of young people. The staff were friendly and speak enough English to communicate with good order. Happy to have food that’s not bbq/ grilled. A bonus to have a cat and dog in a dining atmosphere ( not allowed in the UK!!) as we are animal lovers. A little gem away from the main Galata Tower dining area.😸🐕🐾🐶
Absolutely charming place, intimate setting in the heart of Istanbul’s historic area, down the block from Barnatham hotel and short walk from Galata Tower. Atmosphere is very cozy, with pretty tables and decor and engaging and well -educated personnel (chef plus servers) who are fun to chat with. Theres also a little orange cat and a sweet rescue dog who wags his tail when you enter. So if you don’t like animals, don’t bother. Food is excellent and reasonably priced, though much of the food in this city is also excellent. You’d go for the atmosphere. Limited choice on alcohol, only mulled wine, but it’s very nice. They have amazing breakfast menu.
