I came here because ChatGPT insisted this was one of the best places to try a traditional Turkish breakfast, especially menemen. I have to admit, I'm sometimes a bit skeptical of such confident recommendations—but this time, it was a direct hit. Right in the bull's-eye. The restaurant is tucked away on a quiet little street, far from the crowds. No constant stream of tourists walking past, just a calm, authentic atmosphere where you can truly enjoy your breakfast. As always, the food is what matters most to me. Unfortunately, the traditional breakfast is served only for a minimum of two people, so I had to choose another breakfast set instead. And it was absolutely fantastic!!! Everything was so delicious that I couldn't leave a single bite. I'm attaching a photo of my table after breakfast—you'll see that I practically licked every plate clean. It had been a long time since I enjoyed such simple food so much. That's the real art of cooking: taking ordinary ingredients and turning them into something unforgettable. A huge thank you to the restaurant for such a wonderful breakfast. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul.
The MOST amazing breakfast! We went on our first day in Istanbul and no other meal topped it on our entire trip that we went back on our last day! The full breakfast is incredible, the service is amazing and the staff explain all the components, it is clear they take a real pride in their food and service. I think about our breakfast here often. Very good value for money too.
Tasty. Truly tasty. Highly recommend to visit if you’re tourist in Istanbul. Very pleasant service who know English, free chai, cozy atmosphere. I like this place. Maybe not for every day, but visit from time to time - is a good idea. A little note for myself - is that it was good despite there were no meat in meal. And I was satisfied. It’s rare for me personally. And my special weird topic - toilet! It’s very good. It’s clean, good looking, well equipped and there are no smells. From my experience, it’s rare quality of toilet. Recommend it as well
Excellent spot for a hearty breakfast! I went a little later in the morning close to 11:30am so I think the morning breakfast crowd had already come and gone. It was nice to basically have the restaurant all to myself. They have an expensive breakfast menu so its not a easy decision to make in terms of what to eat 😅 Decided to go with the kashar cheese menemen and was not disappointed. Every breakfast option comes with an assortment of sides including olives, cheese, 2 types of bread, jam, tomatoes/cucumbers and turkish tea! At the recommendation of the server I also got an extra side of butter with honey that's traditionally eaten with the homemade bread. Although it was already wayyy more than enough food I also had to sample the potato and cheese gozelme because it just looked too good to miss. When the spread made its way to my table it did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh and so flavourful that I absolutely could not stop indulging! The menemen was outstanding and paired so well with all the accompaniments, the gozelme was delectable! I had such a feast that I basically didn't need to eat at all for the rest of the day! All of that deliciousness washed down with some Turkish tea and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. Can't recommend this place enough for an incredible Turkish style breakfast!
I love kahvalti and I love these guys. I believe their style of eggs are called Sahanda Yumurta, all served in those iconic Turkish pans. OMG, the homemade biscuit bread was delish. I came here twice because it was that good. I ordered the sucuklu (Turkish sausage) and then Yiğit special, which had boiled eggs the next visit. I recommend both. I love the accompaniments with breakfast. If you want to try it for the first time or maybe not first time, they have homemade aryan. Service is great, everyone is nice. I spoke a little bit of Turkish, but English works just fine. They take credit card too. I will be back for my next visit to Istanbul. Oh! If they like you, they hook it up with some Turkish delights. 😍
