I was looking forward to trying Wawa's with my family while visiting Istanbul because it's such a popular restaurant on Istiklal Street. Our hotel was around the corner. The food itself was decent, and I have no complaints about the quality of the meal. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by what happened when it came time to pay. I was charged an additional "service fee" on a separate receipt. When I asked the waiter what this fee was for, I never received a clear explanation. After I paid, he immediately offered to take both of my receipts, which made me uncomfortable and gave the impression that he didn't want me to keep a record of the charges. Afterward, I looked into the matter and found information indicating that restaurants in Türkiye are generally expected to include applicable taxes in their advertised prices, and I could not find any clear basis for the unexplained extra charge. From my perspective, the separate service fee felt misleading and lacked transparency. I'm happy to pay for good food and good service, but customers—especially tourists—deserve to know exactly what they're being charged for. If a restaurant chooses to add an extra fee, it should be clearly disclosed and properly explained before payment, not afterward. I left feeling disappointed, not because of the food, but because of the lack of transparency. I would encourage other visitors to carefully review their bill and keep their receipts.

Loved the food specially the kefta. Great outdoor service followed with black tea which hit the spot. Very reasonable price and more importantly Friendly staff. If you are in Istanbul near istiklal street please give them a visit. Highly recommended

We visited Wama's Restaurant on Saturday, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent despite it being a busy weekend. We ordered the Mushroom Risotto and Fettuccine con Pollo, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The risotto was perfectly creamy and full of flavor, while the fettuccine was rich, fresh, and cooked to perfection with tender chicken and mushrooms. The presentation was beautiful, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. It was truly a perfect dining experience in Taksim. Highly recommend Wama's to anyone visiting the area. We'll definitely be coming back

I had dinner on my last night in Istanbul at Wama’s Italian restaurant and it was an excellent choice. I had a Mediterranean Salad and Seafood Linguine and both were very tasty and cost 1300 TL. Nice looking restaurant, excellent service, and you could watch the cooks make your food.

Outstanding food and exceptional service! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly valued throughout the visit. One of the best dining experiences we had in Turkey. Highly recommended for anyone looking for amazing food and genuine hospitality in Istanbul!
