We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident, as it is located on the 8th floor of our hotel. But with this review, we will try to convince you to visit this place on purpose, even if you are not staying at Khai Karaköy. The restaurant is small, cozy, with subdued lighting, high-quality interior decoration, and a beautiful panoramic view of the Galata Bridge. We started with appetizers, which included: 1) celery root with roasted apricots; 2) Turkish cheese with chili pepper jam; 3) mussels with braised leeks. As a small compliment, we were offered another Turkish cheese with thyme and cold-pressed olive oil. The freshness, quality, and flavor balance of the dishes were, dare I say it, Michelin-level: nothing superfluous, each dish with only 3-4 ingredients, no jumble of flavors, and perfection in every detail. Simplicity combined with perfection in preparation is what you expect from a haute cuisine restaurant. Even the braised leeks were cooked so that they could be eaten as a side dish. For the second course, we enjoyed orzo pasta with seafood — and, again, nothing superfluous: just perfectly cooked pasta, thick seafood sauce based on seafood juice without (!) any flavor enhancers, cream, etc. The pasta was cooked to the standard of an excellent restaurant in Italy. To all of the above, we must add attentive service: to the extent that after each course, the chef himself came out to us and inquired about the quality of the dishes. This is an important and customer-oriented practice, which, unfortunately, is now ignored in many restaurants, even expensive ones. Special praise goes to the bartender for the delicious and unusual cocktails. The Aura cocktail, based on rum with smoked figs and a pleasantly tingling chili pepper aftertaste, was a particular delight. The entire dinner cost us €80: an impeccable combination of price and quality, which is why we give it a confident and well-deserved 5/5. Thank you to the chef and all the staff.
We recently dined at Tuzz and I can’t express enough how amazing the experience was! The food was absolutely exceptional, with each dish showcasing the exquisite flavors crafted by Chef Demir. Every bite was a delightful journey that left my taste buds in awe. The atmosphere of the restaurant is equally breathtaking. The stunning view complements the exquisite dining experience, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a celebratory gathering. Moreover, the service was impeccable. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, always greeting us with warm smiles and ensuring we felt valued throughout our meal. Their hospitality truly enhanced the overall experience. I highly recommend Tuzz to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience filled with delicious food, beautiful scenery, and outstanding service. I can't wait to return!
An outstanding dining experience in every aspect. The view is simply breathtaking, with a spectacular panorama over the Galata Bridge and Sultanahmet, creating a truly magical atmosphere, especially in the evening. By pure chance, we found ourselves dining on the opening night of the restaurant, which had just reopened with a new culinary concept. The cuisine is of exceptional quality, offering a refined and modern reinterpretation of traditional Turkish and Greek flavors, beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. The service was flawless, attentive and professional, truly worthy of a fine dining restaurant. Every detail was handled with care, making us feel genuinely pampered throughout the evening. The location is elegant, romantic, and intimate, the perfect setting for a memorable dinner in Istanbul. Highly recommended.
