The one and only place in Beyoglu you may have hamsi pilaf and dozen more thoughtfully and passionately cooked dishes by chef Hizir Keskin. 17 years and he is cooking everything every day himself, looking at his happy customers behind the counter. Hamsi pilaf never lasts long
Since the traditional local cuisine restaurants in Beyoglu dissappear one by one, you can merely find the alternatives. Hayvore is the alternative. Rich choice of black sea region cuisine.
This place feels like eating a meal made by your mom. Pro tip: don’t bother looking at the menu because they don't always have what’s listed. Instead, go straight to the counter, look at the fresh dishes, and pick what you want. The anchovies with rice were incredible, and the aubergine with onion was absolutely exquisite. Simple, honest, and delicious food!
Great traditional food. No fancy tables or fancy cutleries are necessary. The quality of food is fantastic!! You may think it’s touristic because of the area but it’s hidden in a tiny street.. worth visiting. Fair prices.
I stumbled at this restaurant looking for local soup. Plenty of selection, nice location in istiklal. Don’t be surprised if you are paying more than your expected bill, they charge for service fee.
