The entire breakfast experience at The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul was amazing and truly one of the highlights of our trip!! We thank the whole entire team and especially want to express our love and gratitude to Beril and Bahar, who made every morning feel so special. They had the best energy, remembered our coffee order, our breakfast preferences, and even seated us in the same area daily because they knew it was our favorite. It was clear how much they genuinely care about their guests, treating them like family in their home, and their warmth, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail made every breakfast feel incredibly personal. One of the moments we’ll always remember was the tahini sesame cookies!! We tried them on our first morning and mentioned how much we loved them. The very next day, Beril and Bahar remembered and brought them directly to our table without us even asking. Then, on our last morning, they surprised us with a beautiful box of cookies to take home. It was such a thoughtful gesture and perfectly reflected the level of care and love they put into every interaction. Thank you to the amazing Ritz Istanbul for making every morning such a wonderful start to our day. The kindness and genuine hospitality made us feel so welcomed, and we will remember you all long after our trip. We can’t wait to come back!! ❤️
Located on the first floor of Ritz-Carlton Hotel, with several Michelin recommendations, its view is spectacular along the Bosphorus Straight, and the service is beyond satisfaction. Especially the young lady with the black hair who helped me with a chamomile tea to cure my headache at the front desk and the tall thin man who’s very familiar with everything. We tried several local dishes of Chef Recommendation. Lam is good. Manti is special with sour yoghurt. Mushroom soup is nice with apple vinegar. Thin bread is the best.
We enjoyed a great selection of modern Turkish dishes, including tender grilled lamb chops and köfte served on elegant copper platters, flavorful stuffed eggplant (patlıcan), a rich and creamy yogurt-based dish, pistachio baklava-style dessert with ice cream, and a beautifully presented fig dessert. Everything was beautifully plated, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. We also loved the warm bread selection and the refreshing drinks. What truly elevated the experience was the outstanding service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely personable. Special thanks to Selim and Şafak — they took excellent care of us, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured every detail was perfect. Their professionalism and friendly hospitality made us feel truly welcome.
This place gets two stars and not just one because the dishes that were served were very good. I asked for the bill stating I wished to pay by credit card. A member of staff came to the table with a credit card machine. It was soon clear to me that she had no clue as to how to operate the machine. Without telling me the payment did not go through she proceeded to charge the card for a second time and disappeared into the restaurant with an incomplete transaction (leaving the card with me) and then came back to say she had to run the card for a third time! I told her my bank would have probably blocked my card on suspicion of fraud! Then, another waiter who had, gladly, read the "How to operate" manual charged my card in an instant without any hindrance. Later on, my bank told me they only knew about (and authorised) one payment: the third and last one. Would the Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul very kindly print and distribute enough copies of this machine manual to members of staff dealing with payments?
