Nice atmosphere and very welcoming staff. My brother and I ordered the köfte plate and İskender kebab. The food was good overall, but the İskender wasn’t the best I’ve had, and the köfte was a little dry. Still, we enjoyed our time there. The atmosphere is really nice and the friendly service made the experience better.
As foreigners, we felt incredibly welcome. We were seated immediately in the garden which was a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. Our server Sakir was helpful and made awesome recommendations on food. It was fast and hot when it came out. Would absolutely love to return here and encourage others to visit as well.
I’d definitely recommend The Hidden Garden! We visited twice during our stay, which says a lot about how much we enjoyed it. On both visits, we were welcomed with complimentary bread, cheese and olives, and at the end of the meal we were served Turkish tea and baklava on the house. It was a lovely gesture that made us feel truly welcome. The food was delicious, the portions were very generous, and the value for money was excellent. We spent around 2,000–2,500 Turkish Lira for two people each time, which we found to be very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the overall experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, and attentive. They came to our table right away, and we never had to wait long for anything. A special thank you to Mr. Şakir, who served us on our second visit. He was exceptionally kind, professional, and made our evening even more enjoyable. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a lovely, intimate atmosphere. It’s also conveniently located close to the city center. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back the next time we’re in Istanbul.
Excellent start to our Turkey trip! The service was fantastic from Sermet, all staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, we had the maze starter for 2 which had a variety of dips to choose from served with bread and we had the lamb kebabs as mains. My husband has stated that it was the most tender lamb he has had in a long time. The drinks were great and the (on the house) starter was great. We also got baklava and tea at the end which was the perfect way to finish the meal. Would definitely recommend it!
Appetizers - Calamari 20/10 They served it freshly fried with a soft interior. Among the best calamari that I’ve had in Istanbul so far. Hummus 8/10 Definitely made from scratch, would have loved for it to be more creamy and not so thick and stiff. Lunch - Lamb Chops 9/10 very juicy and cooked to perfection. I’m happy that they weren’t heavy on the spices and keep it simple for those of us who have health issues. The lamb is served it cous cous (personally not my favorite dish) so I didn’t try it but it great according to my other guest. Sakir was my server and he was Great!!!! He was very attentive and I never felt rushed to leave the place. Definitely will recommend if you’re in the area of the Grand Bazaar. It’s only a 8 minute walk and worth the time.
