Wonderful stay in May, thank you Meral 10/10! Fantastic and welcoming hotel right in the heart of Galata. While the rooms and amenities were great, the standout feature was definitely the hospitality. A special thank you to Meral for being so incredibly kind, attentive, and making me feel right at home throughout my stay; lovely, thoughtful touch. Highly recommended
I checked into Hotel Walton Galata for my final night in Istanbul because I wanted to be closer to the Beyoglu neighborhood. Immediately upon check in I received a room upgrade, to a phenomenal room, as well as a free welcome cocktail card for the rooftop bar. The room was luxurious and sizable, with large windows and efficient air conditioning. I went to the rooftop bar for tapas and cocktails, as well as breakfast the following morning. As a solo traveler, I pride hotel restaurants for being less daunting than going out on occasion. This one upheld this desire. The food (especially breakfast) was filling. The view from the roof was stunning. Finally, the day after check out I had a 1am taxi arranged to the airport for a red-eye flight, and as a solo female was at a loss trying to figure out how to occupy my evening from dinner to the taxi (that the airport arranged.) I ended up sitting in the hotel lobby at the welcome and host of concierge, Cihan. He was accommodating, offering me tea and coffee, and was a great conversationalist in my attempt to stay awake. I highly recommend Hotel Walton Galata as one of my favorite stays across what has now been a 5 country trip. Well worth it!
Fantastic hotel! If you are doubting between this hotel and another one, definitely choose this one. The hotel is very centrally located, right around the corner from the Galata Tower. The Sishane metro station is just a few minutes' walk away, and the same goes for the tram and ferry in Karaköy. About the hotel itself: the rooms are spacious and clean. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is equipped with all amenities. The breakfast is delicious. Every morning you get a typical Turkish breakfast, and additionally, you can choose how you want your eggs prepared and what kind of dairy/yogurt you would like with it. The coffee is great, and they also offer juices and tea. The view from the rooftop terrace is phenomenal. It’s also a wonderful spot to have a nice cocktail in the evening. Zeynep runs the hotel and she is an amazing manager. She personally comes over to ask if everything is to your liking, and communicating with her is very pleasant. On top of that, the rest of the team is also very polite and helpful. I traveled to Istanbul alone, a city I know well from my student days, and have rarely felt so welcome in a hotel. I highly recommend this place!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Good people. They made a point to personalize the experience, when they discovered my wife are reuniting after several months, they made sure to romantically prepare the room without me asking or for any extra cost. The location is great. Most of your istanbul experience is within a 30min walk, which is essential considering how bad traffic is. The location is also tucked away in a very quiet corner, dispite being in the heart of Galata
Everything was exceptional, from the cleanliness , staff, and food to the overall experience. Liked · The breakfast was top notch, they gave me so many traditional dishes to try. The best one had to be the spicy sausage and eggs it’s called Sucuklu Yumurta. Also, the first day one of the chefs let me up on the rooftop and the views were amazing. On our second day the lady that serviced the room left us a gift and it was beautiful, rose petals and flowers on the bed with decorative sheet designs to match. The owner of the hotel was so sweet and made things feel very at home and simplistic. She was very kind to everyone there and would help you with anything you asked about.
