Dear Hotel Team, I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful stay we had at your hotel in Istanbul. Everything was excellent, especially the cleanliness, service, and the warm hospitality we received from your staff. Mandala Karaköy Hotel - No, I do not recommend. Despite having an excellent location and modern, newly updated rooms, the Mandala Karaköy Hotel falls severely short due to shockingly microscopic room sizes, unacceptable bedding cleanliness upon arrival, missing basic amenities like a working TV during the World Cup, and predominantly rude, dismissive staff. Given the high price point, these significant problems make it impossible to recommend. ............................................................................................................ PROS Location: The hotel boasts an excellent location. It is perfectly situated right in the middle of the action, close to bustling city life, a wide variety of restaurants, and the waterfront, making it highly convenient for exploring the area. Room Condition: The rooms themselves are very new. The physical space is clean with fresh fixtures, new floor tiles, and an overall updated aesthetic. Modern Amenities: The room features nice, modern touches that function well, specifically the high-quality shower and the high-tech light controls. ............................................................................................................ CONS Staff & Service: The majority of the staff were very rude, and the treatment felt almost discriminatory. This was particularly strange and disappointing, as Turkish people are generally known for being incredibly nice and hospitable. Note: There was one male staff member on the night shift who was very kind and considerate, but unfortunately, he was the exception to the rule. Room Size: The room was absolutely TINY. It was legitimately the smallest room I have ever been in my life. Space was so incredibly limited that not even a single chair could fit in the room. Missing Amenities (No TV): The room came missing a working TV. When I called down to report it, the reception girl was incredibly rude and dismissively said, "Oh, your TV doesn't work." If they knew this, why would they put a guest in that room? It was during the FIFA World Cup, so having a working TV felt like a basic requirement. They showed zero care or willingness to resolve the issue. Cleanliness (Bedding): While the fixtures and tiles were clean, the bed sheets seemed like they hadn't been changed from the previous guest. When I checked the bed, there was makeup and hair all over the sheets. Price: I paid a high price for this hotel and absolutely did not expect to encounter these significant, basic problems. ............................................................................................................ IN SUMMARY: For the premium price paid, the Mandala Karaköy Hotel is a massive disappointment. While the fantastic location and modern fixtures are great perks, they simply cannot make up for claustrophobic rooms, dirty sheets, missing TVs during a major global sporting event, and unhelpful, rude staff. Save your money and book elsewhere.

Erhan Gündoğdu — Mandala Hotel, Istanbul ★★★★★ From the moment we arrived, Erhan Gündoğdu made our stay at Mandala Hotel feel effortless and genuinely welcoming. He greeted us with a warm smile, handled check‑in with calm professionalism, and anticipated our needs before we even asked. His fluent English and Turkish smoothed every interaction, and his friendly knowledge about Brazil sparked delightful conversation that made us feel instantly at home. Erhan went above and beyond: he arranged reliable transport, recommended nearby restaurants and hidden gems, and helped navigate a few small itinerary changes with patience and efficiency. Every request was met promptly and courteously, and his attention to detail turned what could have been a stressful travel moment into a relaxed, enjoyable experience. I also appreciated the practical switch inside the room to indicate whether you want housekeeping or not, instead of the usual paper signs on the door. The toiletries are high quality, and both the towels and bed linen were brand new, soft, and very comfortable. It really added to the sense of care and attention throughout the hotel. The reception team deserves special mention. Their service was outstanding from start to finish. Friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful. A brilliant stay overall. I am happily returning!!!
Neat and tidy place, very well situated in the busy area and close to restaraunts, shops, bars, nightlife, etc. but despite rooms were not noisy, as the hotel was set aside down a side road. Staff were overly helpful, pleasant and keen to be of assistance. Standard rooms perhaps small for some but for me was no issue and good value, which were clean, tidy, and well maintained. Overall a great place, well situated and excellent value.
I would like to give the highest praise to Eren, Erhan,rasit, and Yusuf. These four are absolutely outstanding! Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail are beyond impressive. They made me feel truly welcome and cared for throughout my stay. Always smiling, always helpful, and always going the extra mile — they turned great service into an unforgettable experience.
