Begin with hotel pickup and a transfer to the Hippodrome, the center of political and sporting life in Roman and Byzantine times. See monuments like the Egyptian Obelisk and the Serpentine Column from Delphi.

Next, view Hagia Sophia (St. Sophia), an architectural masterpiece and museum of Byzantine artifacts. Entry is from the garden side only, as the guide will provide commentary outside the former church and mosque.

Continue to the Blue Mosque to observe its iconic minarets and famous Iznik tilework up close. Then, explore the narrow streets of the Grand Bazaar, home to over 4,000 shops selling jewelry, leather goods, souvenirs, and carpets.

Visit Topkapı Palace, the Ottoman sultans’ former residence, featuring collections of crystal, silverware, Chinese porcelain, imperial robes, and treasury jewels.

Finally, see the Ottoman Sultans’ Tombs located in the graveyard of Hagia Sophia. These 16th-century tombs are decorated with colorful ceramic panels and display ceremonial robes and a piece from the Kaaba cover. Note that the tombs may sometimes be closed.
