Description
Depart Istanbul early morning and travel to the Dardanelles with a breakfast stop around 9:30–10:00 AM. Upon arrival in Eceabat, enjoy lunch overlooking the Dardanelles landscape.
Your guide will lead you to key battle sites, starting at the narrowest point of the Dardanelles for an overview. Visit Kilitbahir Fortress, constructed in 1463 by Fatih Sultan Mehmet to protect the straits.
Continue to the Gallipoli landing beaches, where British Empire and French troops initially landed, joined later by Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) forces at Ariburnu. The tour includes visits to Ariburnu Cemetery and the ANZAC Commemorative Site.
See Turkish Canon Batteries and Anzac Cove, the main base for ANZAC troops. Learn about John Simpson Kirkpatrick’s legacy and visit memorials such as Lone Pine Australian Memorial and Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial. The tour returns to Istanbul by approximately 11:00 PM, including a rest stop.
