The Central House Istanbul Taksim

This is my third stay at this hostel, and also my longest one (13 nights) I really noticed that the hostel was cleaner this time, which made the stay much more comfortable. Honestly, one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this hostel is the front desk staff. They are genuinely kind, welcoming, helpful, and easy to talk to, and they really make the place feel warm and comfortable. I want to thank ( Mert, Ahmet, Talha, and Ibrahim Mert) for being so kind and helpful during my stay. A special thanks to Ahmet for helping me during my previous stay when I had an issue with my mobile screen. I really appreciated his support and kindness. Even though I spent most of my time on the Asian side during this trip, I still chose to stay here again because I like the hostel’s privacy, cleanliness, and atmosphere overall. I honestly wish they would open a similar branch on the Asian side someday I didn’t get the chance to leave a review after my second stay, so I wanted to make sure I wrote one this time.
I usually stay at the same hotel’s Galata branch, but this time I decided to try the Taksim one, and honestly it was the same amazing experience. The staff were very helpful, kind, and welcoming, and everything was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and close to everything you may need during your trip: the metro station, İstiklal Square, coffee shops, restaurants, and many stores. Everything is within walking distance which made our stay very convenient. Of course, I will return again. I don’t think I will ever change my stay whenever I come back to Istanbul.
this place has declined in quality since it's reviews/awards as a top hostel, but it's still quite good value for the price. mar 2026: the rooftop is closed, and theres no longer a breakfast buffet. the breakfast was a sandwich with only deli meat and cheese every day (no veggies like the previous pics) with some sweet snack. for a complimentary breakfast, still greatly appreciated but not the same as the old pictures. luggage storage is an unsupervised room to the side, but free. locks and towels are extra (around 200 lira each I believe) the one thing I found annoying is that I'd booked a women's only room, but twice during my stay a male staff entered the room with their own key, once just to chat with one of the other girls staying there. otherwise the staff were accomodating. the staff with the glasses in particular is very friendly and welcoming. there's not so much a communal space to hang out, but people do sit in the lobby and talk.
