Description

One of the most remarkable historical landmarks in Istanbul, the Blue Mosque is a breathtaking example of classical Ottoman architecture. Situated in one of the city's oldest districts, Fatih, and overlooking the historic Sultanahmet Square and the ancient Hippodrome, the mosque is a must-see for every traveler. Also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, it was commissioned by Sultan Ahmed I as part of a grand imperial complex. While locals often refer to it by its formal name, visitors are especially drawn to the stunning blue İznik tiles that line its interior. This is why many remember it simply as the Blue Mosque. With its six elegant minarets rising high above the skyline, the Blue Mosque has welcomed both worshippers and travelers from around the world since the early 17th century. Today, it continues to serve as a functioning mosque while also offering an unforgettable cultural experience. Guided tours are available every day at 09:30, except Fridays. Please arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before your chosen time. Your guide will be waiting next to the tall white information pillar outside the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts in Sultanahmet Square, holding a purple-and-fuchsia umbrella. Join us to discover the fascinating history, architecture, and spiritual atmosphere of this timeless masterpiece.
