Hippodrome Sultanahmet Square was the Hippodrome in Byzantine times and remained important in the Ottoman era. Surrounded by landmarks like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, it stands at the heart of Istanbul as a symbol of the city's rich cultural heritage. Blue Mosque The Blue Mosque, built between 1609 and 1616 by Sultan Ahmed I, was designed by architect Sedefkar Mehmed Agha. Famous for its blue tiles, it is a masterpiece of Ottoman and Islamic architecture. It stands as one of Istanbul’s most iconic and historically significant landmarks. Hagia Sophia Hagia Sophia was built in 537 by Byzantine Emperor Justinian I as a church. It was converted into a mosque in 1453, became a museum in 1935, and reopened as a mosque in 2020. With its unique architecture and deep history, it is one of Istanbul’s most significant cultural landmarks. Topkapı Palace Explore the former residence of the Ottoman sultans at Topkapi Palace overlooking the Golden Horn. Topkapi Palace was built in 1478 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. It served as the residence and administrative center of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. The palace houses sacred relics, royal belongings, and artistic treasures. Grand Bazaar End at the Grand Bazaar and soak up the atmosphere of one of the world's largest covered markets. The Grand Bazaar was founded in 1461 during the reign of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. It is one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world. Known for gold, carpets, spices, and handicrafts, it has been a center of trade for centuries and remains a key part of Istanbul’s cultural and economic history. After the tour is over, we will drop you back to your hotel or the meeting point we picked up.
